Challenges - IDACO nyc is committed to bring on stage sophisticated, high quality performances, that reflects the dedication and hard work of artists who entirely engage in the creative process. IDACO nyc curates a week-long festival including Dance workshops, creative residencies, thematic roundtables, site specifics, dance performances and an opening event at the Italian Cultural Institute, providing, in addition, the artists with technical support and staff, promotion and advertising. We address challenges head on, with a positive attitude, pushing forward to create a progressive and exciting dance festival

We are a group of Italian artists who are striving to build a creative community, to give voice to Italians’ aesthetic, perspective, and endeavour in dance. In 2014, we founded IDACO nyc, an innovative platform that facilitates a new dialogue between contemporary dance and art in the city

Our Mission is to connect Italian choreographers and artists, who live or visit NYC, with the local contemporary art scene. We want to create opportunities to build network, further artistic research, and couple with multiple creative resources. We aim to provide a solid artistic platform to bring cultures together, to integrate and expand the Italian contribution to American dance, and to cultivate our differences within a larger context of global identity.  

IDACO nyc 2018 theme is:  INTER ZONE / Junction 

Junction refers to a place where multiple things or people meet, a zone between territories.

This year IDACO will focus on the ideas of intersection and junction, with particular attention to the diversity and dialogue between different countries. As new barriers and walls emerge, IDACO nyc would like to raise interest toward the importance of meeting, joining and overcoming distances. This effort may lead to a zone in between, a shared space held for artists of different nations to come close to one another.

When & Where -  The IDACO nyc event  week will be on May 23 to May 27, 2018 at Italian Cultural Institute (May 23), Baruch Performing Arts Center  ( May 24-27) in mid-town Manhattan.
